LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING ISSUED FOR: Crawford County Erie County ...Heavy band of lake effect snow showers finally starting to push inland which will bring improving conditions to the lakeshore counties. Snow showers will show a decreasing trend through the evening then re-establish later tonight in a multi-band structure within the northwest flow. Occasional lake effect snow showers will continue into saturday morning...With greater accumulations over the higher terrain and any areas where lake effect bands become stationary. ...Lake effect snow warning remains in effect until 9 am est saturday... * Snow accumulations...Additional accumulation of 2 to 4 inches tonight. An additional 3 to 7 inches of snow is expected by saturday morning. * Timing...Snow will be heavy through the remainder of the afternoon. Occasional snow showers will continue friday...Then start to taper off saturday morning. * The most intense snow...Will fall this afternoon with conditions improving into this evening. Visibilities may still drop to a half mile in the heavier bands. * Impacts...Snow will accumulate rapidly where lake effect snow bands persist. Visibility will be sharply reduced and untreated surfaces will quickly become snow covered and slippery.
