LAND ACQUISITION ORDINANCE-A BLOW TO FARMERS. The British govt. had all the powers as per Land Acquisition Act of 1894. In th name of public interest the coloial govt could acquire any land anywhere in the country and no question asked. No care was taken about the fair compensation to the farmers, rehabilatation of those who were evacuated and no botheration for any adverse impact on environment and all that. The previous Congress led govt. at the Centre made some changes in the Land Acqusition Act to protec the interest of farmers. Consent of 80% of farmers was necessary, fair compensation for the land acquired and proper rehabilitation, social impact on environment etc. were taken care of. The Modi Sarkar with one stroke has taken away all safegauards for the farmers, environment etc. It has proved that it is bound to help the big companies at the cost of farming community. It is Gujarat Model implemented at the national level. It is clear now that Modi govt. is govt of the capitalists, for the capitalists and by the capitalists..
