LAPSUS NO MORE QUARREL? THE more than two-hour powwow among Gov. Art, ex-governor Nong Niel, ex-congressman Oca and his wife, Board Inday Ninfa, held the other day (Tuesday, August 27) at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol, ended with a happy note of contentment and unity – temporarily, perhaps. The leaders agreed that Mayor Bing Tupas of Barotac Viejo, not Mayor Inday Tin-Tin Garin, will be the next president of the Mayors’ League-Iloilo Chapter. It was also agreed that the president of the Association of Barangay Captains will come from the 1st District. “Okey na lang inâ nga areglo agod mapaiway ang gamo. Unity ang amon gusto,” Oca told our Deep Throat after they went out of the meeting room. Earlier, Oca told us that he will stick to their political alliance under the leadership of Gov. Art, and he has no plan to depart from the group. “Whatever the governor decides, we will follow. We want unity, peace and understanding,” the acknowledged political kingpin of the 1st District said. Political observers, however, think that by 2016, Oca will depart from the coalition and maybe run for governor.
