LASER TEETH WHITENING - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW! 1. How white will my teeth go at the end of the treatment? This depends on the mineral content contained in the dentin of your teeth. Results will therefore vary between individuals. Mineral content depletes with age, by the foods you ingest, and can also be affected by medicines that you may have taken as a child. Generally speaking, we will get your teeth to as white as they were when you were a teenager and sometimes whiter. Some people prefer not to have this level of whiteness, and should request prior to a procedure not to have their teeth whitened too dramatically. 2 .How soon will I see results? Immediately! There is no waiting around for 2 or 3 weeks to see the results. As soon as you are finished with your laser teeth whitening treatment, you will look in the mirror and see the results. If we do not whiten your teeth, you will not be charged for the procedure. 3. Is the treatment uncomfortable? No. Our all new gels and laser systems ensure a sensitive free treatment in 90% of cases. Some patients may experience minor sensitivity. 4. Are the results permanent? Results will last between 12 and 18 months. Some clinics might tell you that results will last for more than three years but we have found this not to be the case. Teeth will always stain due to lifestyle, wear and tear and ageing. The White Smile Company offers a top-up service for returning customers which is hugely discounted 40 min top-up for $80, we also do really great deals for your own custom made bleaching trays. 5. Is the process harmful to my teeth? No. The treatment does not change the shape or structure of your teeth anyway. 6. Will the gel whiten crowns, veneers or false teeth? The teeth whitening process will only remove intrinsic staining from natural teeth. However, the gel will help remove all extrinsic staining from teeth, including false teeth. This means that your false teeth will be cleaned back to their original colour. If you are planning to have a crown, bridge, filling or false tooth, it is recommended that you first have your teeth whitened. Your dentist will then be able to match the shade of the false tooth to your new colour. 7. Is teeth whitening classified as dentistry? No. Teeth whitening is classed as a cosmetic treatment not a dental treatment and can therefore be carried out by anyone who has the required training. Do be aware of people with minimal training and experience. Many teeth whitening therapists get trained using a DVD or have only had a couple of hours training. The White Smile Company has been in operation for over 8 years and has carried out over 5,000 treatments and were professionally trained by a dentist. 8. Do many people whiten their teeth? Yes, more than you would imagine. A bright, sparkling smile can make a very big difference to a persons confidence and self esteem. Studies have shown that people with whiter teeth smile more readily and tend to make more eye contact whilst engaged in conversation. Typically, people will not immediately note that your teeth have been whitened, but they will think to themselves that you are looking very healthy, without putting their finger on why this is the case. 9. How long does the treatment take? Treatment takes one hour and 10 minutes including same day consultation. 10. How can I achieve the best results possible? A full laser whitening treatment will generally get your teeth to as white as they can naturally go. To maintain this shade improvement The White Smile Company strongly recommends the use of a post treatment take home kit. A take home kit will not only maintain the level of whitening, it will also discourage build up of plaque on the fronts of the teeth reducing the chance of periodontal related diseases. The White Smile Company fits and supplies custom made bleaching trays/retainers with whitening gel.
