Ten Grands for Kids is a 75-minute matinee show created especially for kids, featuring ten pianists on ten grand pianos, with a mix of professional musicians and gifted kids playing together on one stage. The concert is offered FREE to kids in the Portland/Metro area. The goal of Ten Grands for Kids is to create a show that inspires students to follow their dreams, expose them to music at a very high level of proficiency and to introduce them to Portland’s own wonderful Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, creating a visual and auditory experience that is memorable. Nearly 75% of our attendees are return groups from the previous year, and the concert is open to kids of all abilities and needs. -Kerry-Jo PS. Additionally, they are offering a curriculum in 2014 to complement Ten Grands for Kids. This curriculum will be offered through the Snowman Foundation’s partner organization, Music Workshop (musicworkshopedu.org). Music workshop is a turnkey, innovative program that any public elementary school can implement for free. With the help of educators and volunteers, all of our students will have the opportunity to be exposed to music through the Music Workshop program. Curriculum information will be sent to each of the registrants when it becomes available.
