LAST CHANCE for the 2014-15 School Year . . . . Open your home & share your culture. Host a foreign exchange student! Volunteer Host Families frequently state that hosting an international student is the best decision they ever made. Some have hosted more than 40 students! Hosts site various benefits: >It gave our children an edge on the future! >Hosting looks good on employment resumes and college applications! >Our children walk comfortably among all cultures! >We learned about ourselves by defining our familys culture, rules, expectations, passions and interests! >We learned who we are as Americans! >We realized the value of family discussions as we shared our places within the family with our new family member. Topics included house rules, chores, lifestyle, national, state and local government/ laws and in general, what is important to each of us. CETUSA has a wonderful selection of high school students for fall! Applicants are in nearly 40 different countries, including Brazil, China, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand and others. We are seeking, and qualifying, host families now. To qualify your family, we: Check references, Do an in-home interview with all host family members present, Tour your home with particular attention on the students bedroom, Do background checks on all household members, 18 and over. Host Families complete a Host Family Profile sharing their interests and hobbies with their student. Its all about relationships - with your student, Coordinator and with teens from around the world! Give your family the gift of a lifetime when you invite an international teen to join your family for an academic year!
