For Volunteer of the Year nominee please share their volunteerism to a given club, group or organization has been commendable during the past year. For Business of the Year nominee please highlight how they in the past year have demonstrated quality of service, product and professionalism and has been able to respond to the increased challenges of operating a business in a city on the grow. For Citizen of the Year nominee please share how their citizenship in the past year has been exemplary in the areas of concern, commitment, support and professionalism for a given cause during the past year or whose accumulative community service to the City of Coalinga and its residents has made a difference.. Nomination Requirements Nominations will be accepted from the community at large No self-nominations accepted. 1. A suggested nominee in a category may not have been a nominee in the same category the previous year. 2. If there are more than five nominees in a category, the standing Chamber Board of Directors will cast a secret ballot, to narrow down the nominees to five per category. There will be no more than five nominees per category. 3. No nominee can be nominated in more than one category in the same years election. 4. If a tie occurs, nominee names will be submitted to the Chamber Board of Directors and a secret ballot will be taken to select a winner, or a coin toss if no decision is reached.. 5. No current Chamber Board member business can be nominated. 6. A Citizen of the Year nominee shall be a person whose citizenship in the past year has been exemplary in the areas of concern, commitment, support, activism and professionalism for a given cause or causes during the past year or whose accumulative community service to the City of Coalinga and its residents should be acknowledged. 7. A Citizen of the Year nominee cannot have won the award previously. 8. A Volunteer of the Year nominee shall be a person whose volunteerism to a given club, group, cause or organization has been commendable during the past year. This award does not preclude a person from the Citizen of the Year Award. 9. A Business of the Year nominee must be a current Chamber member in good standing. 10. A Business of the Year nominee has demonstrated throughout the year a high quality of customer service, product and professionalism, supported local causes and has been able to successfully respond to the increased challenges of operating a business in a city on the grow. 11. Business of the Year nominees, will be evaluated through the Better Business Bureau ratings, Board certifications, and that their city business license is current. 12. All nomination forms must be legibly signed to ensure identification of the individual submitting the form.
