LAST NIGHT ......TUESDAY........ERIE, PA......I had to find the BREWERIE at UNION STATION......for a Geneva College alumni dinner. I was curious to see who went to GC in this area. As I was leaving to drive back to Ashtabula, I decided to look around......found a Middle East restaurant next door!!! Walked into the restaurant to ask about the menu and had a chance to speak some Arabic!! The IRS seemed to have an office next to my parking spot.....and there was an imposing statue of a man near by. I forgot to check for the mans name. A park with a large working fountain occupied the area across from the statue. I finally headed home from Erie in the dark sometime after 8:00 PM. Anyone out there have any information about that statue? My trip to Erie seemed like a visit to a foreign country.......... so much unfamiliar territory so close to home!!!
