LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE 2014 Mangonui Waterfront Festival Planning already under way for the landmark event Following the amazingly successful “Last of the Summer Wine” Waterfront Festivals held over the last two years, Doubtless Bay Promotions Inc in association with Somersault Event Management are planning a repeat performance. As the name implies, it is held in late summer and combined with a high tide, so Saturday 5th April has been chosen. It is also the last day of Daylight savings for this coming summer season. Once again this exciting Landmark Festival will be held on the Mangonui Waterfront. It has been created as a family-oriented showcase for the huge variety of Far-North produced foods, beverages, art, music and all that is good about Mangonui, Doubtless Bay and the far North. The format will again be similar, with the proposed road closure ensuring a safe yet picturesque environment. There will be even more activities for children so the emphasis remains on providing a fun day for all the family. It is planned that a second stage will also be erected to provide more musical entertainment than in previous years. Those interested in participating as a stallholder in the 2014 Festival should email Jodi Betts at [email protected] or phone 021-949-690 or download a stallholder’s application form via the website waterfrontfestival.co.nz or pick up a registration form from the Doubtless Bay Information Centre. The registration form will outline the procedures for involvement. Early registration is recommended, and an Early-Bird discount is offered to those who book their stand space before the end of January. If the rave reviews and expressions of interest from both exhibitors and visitors who attended the previous festivals are any indication, the 2014 event is once again destined to be another great success.
