LASU LATEST: After six hours of heated debates, counter-debates, pleas and appellations, the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), today, directed the management to open the registration portal for two days.It also resolved that the 1,292 students be allowed to register and sit for the exams.That management should carry out comprehensive assessment of damages and report same to the House.That the Students Union must write an apology letter on behalf of the erring students to the management.That all the 1,292 students must write a letter of undertaken promising to be of good conduct.That this is the last time such a mayhem would take place in LASUThat the House will pay an on-the-spot assessment of the intensity of damages.That the House will set-up a Committee of enquiry in its next seating to ascertain the remote and root causes of the rampage, while ensuring the ring leaders are fished out and dealt with according to the universitys laws.Present at the meeting were Education Commissioner, Barr. (Mrs) Olayinka Oladunjoye; Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Otunba Fatai Olukoga, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Mr. Bode Agusto; Prof. John Obafunwa, vice chancellor; Prof. Sena Bakre, deputy vice chancellor (Academics); Registrar, Barr.
