LATEST UPDATE ON CHRISTIAN: Winds are now beginning to strengthen along southern coasts of England and through the English Channel. We are expecting this process to continue during the next few hours with severe gales developing in the early hours. There is also a lot of heavy rain falling across southern parts of England with totals building up. Some very mild air is also being drawn up by Christian across southern and south-eastern England with temperatures into the low-mid teens.
