LAUREL POLICE DEPARTMENT DAILY LOG Tuesday, August 13, 2013 Calls for Service: 102 ARREST: 327 Montrose Ave (LA Fitness): Officers responded for the report of a hit and run accident. The victim stated a black male on a black scooter hit her car and then fled the scene. Officers conducted area checks and located a black scooter nearby. The scooter was unattended and the motor was still warm. Officers were approached by a witness who stated they just saw a black male leave the scooter and run into a nearby building. Officers went inside that building and located 21 year old Wardell Johnson. Johnson had several cuts on him. Johnson admitted to riding the scooter and leaving the scene because he didn’t have a license. Officers arrested Johnson. ARREST: 14700-blk Fourth St: Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle and found the driver, 52 year old Derek Millender had an open warrant. Millender was arrested. SHOPLIFTING ARREST: 13600 Baltimore Ave (Shoppers Food): Officers responded to the business and arrested 40 year old Kenneth Johnson for shoplifting.
