LAW AND ETHICS, a thin line so blurred and confusing to leadership. LAW is defined as a binding custom or practice of a community, a rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally recognized as binding or enforced by a controlling authority and the whole body of such customs, practices, or rules whereas ETHICS is defined as the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation, or a set of moral issues or aspects (as rightness). There is a thin line between joy and madness, pain and pleasure, lust and love, courage and stupidity and people say if you really want to live life to the fullest you have to walk over that thin line. But when it comes to the question of ETHICS the line is clearly drawn, if you cross the line you know that you have crossed it. The line may be little blurred but when you cross it you know you have crossed it. People cross this line for different reasons like fame, greed, fortune but their hearts immediately tells them that they did cross the line and it will be up to their conscience as to what they do about it. Zwelinzima Vavi crossed the line and apologised, Hansie Cronje crossed the line in the match fixing scandal and apologised but some will cross the line now and again and continue defending their actions basing such to defence to law. Law is for people without conscience, people without morals and respect to positive living. When someone is stealing he knows that he is stealing and that is why he will do all precautions that he is not caught. That was just what was on my mind this morning. GOOD MORNING FRIENDS.
