LAW AND SOCIETY --------------------- Despite widespread criticism over the years , it is not true that legal loopholes are deliberately designed in Laws . Insted social changes and value alterations and developments compel the change in laws through amendments or striking down the laws as ultra vires . While implementing laws the vested interests partially implement the provisions or twist the laws in terms befitting interpretation . Examples of such loopholes in implementation are arresting or leaving the criminals for the same offences on political affiliation and social status . , or imposing tax levies for the same transaction at different intensity on different groups/persons depending on political and social status . Today, the law-makers are more credited with breaking laws by taking advantage of legal loopholes than the ordinary citizens who are unable to take upper hand of their position . Corruption in public life gets almost a usurped recognition when the laws are twisted or broken to favour the politically powerful and men of status in the society . Framing of laws commensurating to the need of the society and securing their dispassionate application of laws without fear or favour are the call of the day . The men in power should recognise the rules of level playing game to lessen the rigour of corrupting influences of privileges . It is the healthy system that sustains a healthy social life and it is very much true for corruption as well
