LB Nick Perry was a 2012 first round draft pick of the Green Bay - TopicsExpress

LB Nick Perry was a 2012 first round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers. But hes had two disappointing seasons due to injuries. Six games into his rookie year, Perry suffered a wrist injury that ended his season. He played in 11 games last year, but he injured his foot on Oct. 13th against Baltimore and was ineffective in the six games he played after. Perry dealt with foot and knee injuries again during the offseason. But thats behind him now. Perry was activated from the P.U.P. list and practiced today (Thursday) for the first time. The number of practices are down with the new CBA which means missing practice lead to missed opportunities. Perry is hoping hes over the injury issues and is excited about contributing to this Packers defense. The arrival of Julius Peppers means Perrys role this season isnt known. Hes lining up at what Mike McCarthy is calling the elephant position. He did spend some time with the number 1 defense today and looked good during his 1-on-1 pass rush drills. (Check out the video, Perry is the last of three pass rushers in the sequence. He blew past starting Left Tackle David Bahktiari) Nobody knows how this will end up, but Perry can go a long way in determining that if he can stay healthy for the first time in his young career.
