LBPD Administrative Bureau Chief Brayden Phillips suggested - TopicsExpress

LBPD Administrative Bureau Chief Brayden Phillips suggested recently that this Realignment-crime boost link does exist. Data should exist now to support or refute that POV: a comparison between the names of those released locally--an easily-determined list--and the names of those arrested for crimes since their release to the city. Are the people out of prison because of Realignment the same people committing crimes now? If yes, then theres a nexus. If not, then none likely exists. Simple as that. (Last year, former South Division Commander Joe Stolinovich explained away any such nexus saying the parolees are not being connected to current crimes because, in their wisdom, they focus on crimes below some vague reporting threshold that only they and the prosecutors know about.) But the LBPD hasnt seen fit either to create a study to learn of that nexus or to release the results, if such a study has been done.
