LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Requested in Marysville, Washington Within hours of the shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, Pastor Kurt Onken from Messiah Lutheran Church in Marysville, Washington, Rev. Ross Johnson (Director of LCMS Disaster Response), and Rev. Ron Norris (Northwest Disaster Response Coordinator), asked for the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs and handlers to come to their community to help bring the Mercy, Compassion, Presence and Proclamation of Jesus Christ to those affected by this tragic event. A mile down the road from the high school, Messiah Lutheran Church will be hosting a place where students and parents can gather to talk and heal from the tragic events from Friday. With classes cancelled at the high school next week, students will be looking for places to gather and talk. Messiah Lutheran Church is one of those places close to the high school that will be open for this to happen, aided by the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs. Help us bring that Mercy, Compassion, Presence and Proclamation of Jesus Christ to those suffering and confused. A team of handlers and K-9 Comfort Dogs will be arriving in Marysville on Monday, October 27 and stay through the week; longer if requested. The team will be available for the community, especially the students, staff and faculty of the high school. The teams gentle and loving presence will serve as a reminder that our gentle and loving Savior is present in our times of sorrow and sadness. Keep everyone in Marysville, Washington in your prayers. LCC never charges those we serve and rely on the support of others to help cover transportation costs. Thank you for your faithful support!
