LCC is partnering with Trinity Lutheran Church in Urbana to collect funds for the seminary in Haiti to help them with the training of new pastors. In January 2012, two years after the earthquake, a Lutheran Seminary was dedicated in Haiti. The goal of the Lutheran Church in Haiti is to train and ordain 50 men for the ministry by the year 2019. Many of the classes have been taught but additional courses are still needed. The main obstacle to overcome is the expense to gather the men together to train them. But for only $150.00 per student we can gather these men together for two weeks. That $150.00 includes transportation to the seminary (long bus rides), lodging and food. During the two weeks they will be in class for 10-12 hours a day and will receive training in four subjects. Please pray for and support these men. The class is scheduled for late January or February. Each sponsor will receive a prayer card with information about the seminarian. Facts about the Lutheran Church of Haiti: 80 Lutheran Churches 30 additional preaching Stations 23 Ordained Pastors No Pastors in Haiti receive a salary Currently 47 men in seminary training We ask that you prayerfully consider helping support the Haitian Lutheran Church in its mission to train new pastors and help spread the Word of God to those in Haiti.
