LCPD HONOR GUARD ATTENDS FUNERAL SERVICES FOR PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE CORPORAL BRYON DICKSON Corporal Bryon K. Dickson II, 38, of Dunmore, died late Friday night at the Pennsylvania State Police Blooming Grove Barracks. He and his wife, the former Tiffany Antos, had celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on August 20. Born in Minot, North Dakota, he was the son of Bryon K. and Darla Shoop Dickson of Falls, Pa. Bryon was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, having earned a B.A. in administration of justice and a minor in sociology. He served his country and state honorably as both a U.S. Marine and as a Pennsylvania State Trooper. Bryon will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed more than words can express. Upon graduation from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 2007, Bryon was stationed at Troop N, Fern Ridge, where he was assigned to conduct aggressive patrol operations throughout Monroe and Carbon counties. Bryon had a sincere passion for DUI enforcement, earning multiple awards from the Pennsylvania DUI Association and numerous state police commendations. His passion for removing impaired drivers from our streets led to Bryon completing his Drug Recognition Expert certification, becoming one of the few highly trained troopers tasked with identifying drug-impaired drivers. In July of 2013, Bryon was promoted to corporal and assigned to Troop K, Philadelphia. He was subsequently transferred to Troop R, Blooming Grove in June of 2014, where he served as a Patrol Unit Supervisor. Also surviving are two young sons, Bryon Keith Dickson III and Adam Robert Dickson, at home; a sister, Stacey Hinkley and her husband, Mark, Sweet Valley, Pa.; and a brother, Brandon Dickson and his wife, Candice, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Devin, Jacob and Gabriel Dickson, and Joshua and Kaelyn Hinkley. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Peters Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton, by Pennsylvania State Police Chaplain the Rev. Thomas M. Muldowney, V.G. Burial with full honors will take place in the Dunmore Cemetery. Public visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Rotunda at Marywood University, 2300 Adams Ave., Scranton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cpl. Bryon K. Dickson II Memorial Fund, c/o NBT Bank, 1230 ONeill Highway, Dunmore, PA 18512.
