LD872 - if anyone has not already taken a look at the estimated cost to enact this bill they should - mainelegislature.org/legis/bills/bills_126th/fiscalpdfs/FN087202.pdf For an estimated breakdown of the first two cycles (see top of page 8) - mainelegislature.org/legis/bills/getPDF.asp?paper=SP0297&item=2&snum=126 There are two line items 1. personal services 2. all other. It is impossible to find savings when there is no detail as to what the estimated costs are. What is the estimated cost for the three personal? What exactly does "All Other" cover? It would be helpful to know as this money is essentially being given to the Judicial Branch - the Branch of government that is notorious for their lack of oversight and accountability. The people of Maine are being asked to give a gift of $200000.00 to the Judicial Branch. Are we throwing good money after bad? Can this position of oversight be accomplished for a price tag less than what is being requested? What are your thoughts?
