Your final Documentary Analysis Grade will be based on: - Pre-Writing Worksheet (15pts) - Outline (15 points) - Final Output (70 pts) - Total DA Grade: 100 points 2. This paper should not be a summary of the documentary and not just your personal reaction to it. 3. Aims: - Identify/state a clear thesis statement or aim of the documentary (e.g. The documentary aimed to…). - Analyze the documentary according to the three modes of persuasion (ethos, pathos, logos). Discuss how the modes reflect the tone of the film as well as the biases and beliefs of the filmmaker about the subject and the target audience. - Determine the documentary’s possible target audience. - Cite specific scenes from the film in order to support claims made about the tone, bias(es) and modes of persuasion used. 4. Three documentaries will be viewed in class. 5. After viewing each documentary, you will be asked to accomplish a Pre-Writing Worksheet. 6. You will choose only one out of the three documentaries as the subject of your Documentary Analysis.
