LEARNING WHILE DEBATING..... One rule that must never be forgotten about debating an issue in a public forum is that one should always focus on the issue and abstain oneself from being personal. What I mean about focusing is that one should lay ideas about the issue while trying to prove the case in order to bring support to the ideas from other readers and encourage them to engage in the discussion. Whether some will agree or disagree with the evoked ideas is an obvious matter as people are different and possess different opinions which is awesome to me personally as it allows us to learn new ideas from different angles, backgrounds and perspectives. However, what I am really not for is empty and unthoughtful statements. Such statements are likely to provoke others to launch in a none sense discussion full of disrespect, insults and scornful abuse that will lead to nothing but more disrespect and lack of courtesy. Discussion is a chain of ideas. It is up to people who are participating in the discussion to lead it to something constructive and fruitful where everybody can learn from each other and look forward to the next discussion. I am a big believer in great debates. There is nothing closer to my heart than a deep discussion of any subject provided that the principle of respect is taken quite seriously by participants notably in a public forum like this page. This is our page and we are all responsible to maintain it with respect. If one cannot handle a debate full of respect in a public forum, the least one can do is to abstain........Good Luck and Thank You!
