LED TO SHARE THIS—On this past Sunday morning, my Pastor taught an awesome message, one that was a reminder to me of how our faith is tried. I listened and had to smile, thinking on how The Lord had blessed me to go through the past two weeks! Here it is— 1) The toilet tank sprang a leak that was dripping on the bathroom floor, 2) the roof on the house began to leak and had to be fixed, 3) the water from the leak on the roof dripped down into the house through one of the electrical lights in the ceiling, 4) the pipes that extended to the washing machine area froze, 5) the hot water line from the washing machine developed a leak that flooded the cellar, needless to say we couldn’t use the machine to wash clothes (I’m laughing now as I write this because it seems unbelievable LOL), that’s not all—5) my ankle swelled up and hurt so bad I couldn’t put my weight on it without it sending excruciating pain up my leg, then 6) the car battery wouldn’t start and roadside help had to be called, 7) my body gave me challenges, and 8) I felt a bit sick in my body getting ready for church, but I was determined to make it Sunday and we did! My Pastor taught about how we have a tendency to look at those things that affect us horizontally forgetting to look at how what we go through will affect the lives of those around us for The Kingdom. In other words, we fail to see vertically the work already done by Jesus, we fail to look vertically to our Father God and how others will be blessed as a result of what we go through! It is not about us, it’s about the Kingdom of God! In all that I went through, there is no way possible my finite mind could have handled all these challenges in this short period of time by myself! I know it was God in the midst of it, Who gave me His Peace about it! During all this, God brought me out victoriously because I cast the cares on Him. I knew that I couldn’t handle all that was happening and was left with nothing else but God’s mercy and His Grace to rely on! What He led me to do, I did! People have said, “Don’t you ever go through anything?” The answer again is, “Yes I do!” But I don’t always talk about it when I’m going through—I only want to speak The Word of God! Come to think about it, you usually don’t talk when you are being tested anyway! Wow! Some people even say, “The Teacher is silent during a test!” Wow! Wow! Sometimes you’re not even aware that you are being tested or tried! So many times we can look at people and have no idea what they go through and we think that they have no tests. We see them on the other side of the tests and trials! But I am here to tell you that in the midst of every trial and every test we go through, God is in the midst with us and He will never leave or forsake us! Every test and trial has been “Father filtered!” No matter what it is, He takes us through every time! We already have the victory! He is an Awesome God! I hope this encourages you. Be blessed!
