LEE’S SUMMIT MAN KILLED MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT Lee’s Summit, Mo. – A Lee’s Summit man was killed Tuesday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a car that had turned into his path. Police were called to the scene of the accident at SW Jefferson Street and SW Blue Parkway on June 11th at 12:45 p.m. The initial investigation indicates that the motorcyclist was northbound on SW Jefferson Street and struck a vehicle that was southbound and preparing to make a left turn to proceed east on SW Blue Parkway. The initial investigation indicates that the driver of the car was making a left turn on a green solid traffic signal and failed to yield the right of way to the northbound motorcyclist. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries and passed a short time later. The driver of the car was not injured. The deceased was identified as 36 year old Chad Fritz of Lee’s Summit, MO. He was operating a red, 2002 Ducati motorcycle. The other driver was driving a maroon, Ford Escort, his name is being withheld since he is a juvenile (16 years old).
