LEGALISM IS THE GREAT APOSTACY God’s plan, which began in Genesis 1:1, is divided into multiple dispensations of time. This is true for any plan… even of man. Let’s say your plan was to build a house. The first dispensation of your plan may be to draw up/design the blueprints. The second may be to calculate the costs at a different time. The third may be traveling to the store to purchase materials at yet another time, and so on. None of these dispensations will overlap in time. They remain totally separate, each serving its own purpose. Currently, we are in the dispensation of Grace (aka the church age). This age (after Christ’s birth, death, resurrection and assention) is an age (or dispensation) in which law no longer has the preeminence with God, as was the previous dispensation of His plan. In this dispensation, Christ had fulfilled the law. He also abolished the law. He also imputes the law (spiritually) into the hearts of the true believers. When a Christian operates in this dispensation of God’s plan as if we were still living in the last dispensation, they are disobeying God and simultaneously allowing satan to have control of their life. Here’s why: 1. It is ‘ignoring’ the true gospel/sacrifice/redemption of Christ. [Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:] 2. It is ignoring the Grace/mercy/liberty given to us . [Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.], [Galatians 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:] 3. It’s perpetually condemning us by keeping our sin always before our face. [Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.] 4. It’s trusting in our own works/efforts for salvation, thereby removing the power of God/Jesus alone to save us. [Ephesians 2:8, 9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.] 5. The bible tells us that placing ourselves back under the law after Christ freed us from the bondage thereof, causes us to: a) Fall from grace [Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.] b) Be placed under His curse [Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.] c) Make ourselves transgressors all over again [Galatians 2:18, 19 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.] We are in the age of Grace dispensation of God’s plan. Without Grace, we have no hope. The next dispensation is the rapture.
