LES MIS QUESTIONS ANSWERED - A mum is considering whether or not to bring her daughter to the audition in Sydney on Saturday ... We were wondering just how many girls would audition? Any advice would be great! Our advice? 1. If you get the chance to audition for a professional show, GO! You MUST. Its what we do. -- Caroline OConnor ( star of Broadway/West End/ and Australian Theatre) 2. If you want certainty from the industry, youll never get it. This industry is like a lottery that requires the punters to work harder than ever before in order to get a ticket in the draw. 3. Emotions will run high on Saturday. (Itll be the mums and dads that will be most stressed) Youll see EVERY SORT OF DELIGHTFUL and INTERESTING behaviour this magnificent industry has to offer. Yep. Itll be a circus. Parents can take a CHILL PILL - so to speak, BREATHE, and remember to KEEP CALM and be a peaceful influence on their kids who will be feeling the pressure even if theyre not showing typical signs of nervousness. The GREATEST way to to STRENGTHEN your skills is to increase the DEMAND you place on yourself. The Les Mis auditions are bound to cause a jump in your growth and understanding of the industry. Treat the experience as a fun thing to be a part of, and you cant lose. Here are our tips for the Les Mis audition: Girls: Castle on a cloud is a song of HOPE and POSSIBILITY. Play the JOY and let us see that YOU BELIEVE THERE IS A BETTER WORLD OUT THERE - where there are lots of toys, and no-one shouts or talks too loud. No sulking. No sadness. Keep a sparkle in your eye. Boys; Its VAUDEVILLE. Youre a SHOWMAN with a TWINKLE in your eye and a MILLION DOLLAR SMILE. Use your smile. Be brash but not agro. Hes tough, and he a jokester. LISTEN TO WHAT THE CREATIVE TEAM (people on audition panel) ARE NOT SAYING IN WORDS. BEFRIEND THEM. Watch these videos.
