LESSON 1: THE GOOD SAMARITAN Adopted from Luke 20:35 A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. He met a caravan of robbers before reaching his destination. They stripped him and take of his belongings, beat him and left half dead along the highway. An educated man happened to be traveling on the same road. He saw the man, but thinking he would be delayed, ignored him and passed the other side of the street. Then, another man, a Levite came along. But he was in a hurry to catch up with the appointment and he, too, passed by. Finally, a Samaritan businessman came. Seeing the victim abandoned and wounded, he was moved by pity. He disregarded the fact that this man was a Jew and himself, a Samaritan . He went near the Jew, poured oil and wine on his wounds bandaged them, placed the man on his own mule and brought him to an inn where he looked after him all night. The next day, he gave two silver coins to the innkeeper and told him, “Look after him and upon my return I will pay back whatever extra Money you will spend”.
