LESSON LEARNED TODAY! I often hear RDs such as Ian Beattie, John Duncan, Noanie Sam Heffron, George Reid, Bill Heirs and others harp on about the virtues of carrying a foil blanket especially during a race. I personally have taken to carrying one every time I run now. During todays run I was running up Hope St in the city centre. The weather was wild and chucking it down with sleet. A man had collapsed on the pavement. Some people had put a jacket over him. I stopped, got my foil blanket out of my back pack, handed it over then carried on on my way. Job done in 30 secs. I now realise that aforementioned RDs are not harping on but are passing on their knowledge, wisdom and experience to keep their competitors safe. I have now learned that carrying a foil blanket might not always be for you. Stay safe😉
