LET BELIEVERS THINK SO THINKERS CAN BELIEVE ! Once upon a time Believers were thinkers And Thinkers believed. Faith was not devoid of the rational And the rational was not divorced by the faithful. Absolutes strutted about the Ivory Towers without molestation. Truth stood its ground in the debate between life and death. Tolerance of the intolerable did not suffer casualty in the battle of words. Now the shallow graves of the mind Line the paths of believers on the narrow path. Those mindful of the celestial are drained of depth In the season of deep thinking. Absolutes are dying at the Ivory Towers of relative morality. And those who only think with their spirits have been deceived by the mind. Faith is devoid of the rational as the rational is divorced by the faithful. But I hear the cry of heaven For the earth to draw strength from the wisdom bank. I hear the lamentation of the Master that Unless believers think Thinkers will not believe.
