The threat of a possession of mass destruction like this guy says he had on a federal highway is a serious crime! The Interstate 210 bridge and Calcasieu Ship Channel were reopened at 12:30 p.m. Monday after an early morning bomb threat, state police said. Sgt. James Anderson, spokesman for Troop D, said the area was closed after a man claimed he had a bomb in his vehicle. We were notified at 4:30 a.m. this morning of a vehicle fire on the bridge, Anderson said. Our troopers arrived, ascertained that there was not a fire. A subject advised he had a bomb in the vehicle. Authorities searched the vehicle and did not find any explosive devices. The man was taken into custody and is facing a host of charges. If you have a large explosive device in this vehicle and it were to detonate, then obviously our guys wouldnt be able to go home, and see their families this evening, so we had to be thorough but we also had to be safe, Anderson said.
