LET US VOTE FOR CHIEF KOLADE AKINJO : I post this advocacy today for the sake of the future of the good people of Ilaje/ Ese-Odo Federal Constituency. Am confident that the here after event- when 5th April, 2014, would have come and gone, I would be remembered, acknowledged and saluted. This is because I have no room for party politics now but here in, desirous of preaching qualitative representation. In parliamentary businesses we need men like Chief Sola Ebiseni, Chief Olusola Oke, Barr.Sola Iji, Hon.Kingsley Kuku and now we have Chief Kolade Akinjo, in this category. My list is though, not exhaustive, after all, there was a Mafo-a pride to Ilaje race! There was also a Richard Jolomi of blessed memory- a pride to the Ijaw race. We need Representative who will be able to appropriately articulate the desires and the aspirations of the people of the Federal Constituency and present them to the whole world in the manner that they will be appreciated and attract global attention and consideration. To be able to achieve this we need a highly cerebral, urbane, brave and diplomatic person who also has the requisite communication skills. One of the reasons for bench warming legislators is absence of the communication skills to drive home the conceived ideas. We also need a Representative who can effectively relate with his colleagues through previous interpersonal relationship across the political borders in the Parliament. When you have friends in the House you will relate and lobby more effectively and bring more dividends of democracy to your Constituency. I was at ceremony on a Saturday when one of the candidates of the opposition parties openly confessed that Kolade Akinjo would deliver being a very honest, humble, courageous and intelligent person. I saw the confession of the Chief as a genuine endorsement of merit and competence which make me believe in the need to embrace the current opportunity the candidature of Kolade offers for the sake of the unity and development of our land. It means, therefore, that all of us must lay less emphasis on party affliation or ethnic extraction so that we all work, collectively, to enthrone merit and competence. This is important because we are all family and we share common wealth, common sociopolitical experience and, in all, common aspirations. Our future must be important to all of us irrespective of ethnic colouration or party affiliations. Chief Kolade Akinjo is a competent and polished unifier who deserves our unanimous endorsement and votes.
