LETS AMEND SECTION 1 OF THE 14TH AMENDMENT. SECTION 5 GIVES CONGRESS THE POWER TO AMEND THE 14TH AMENDMENT. I propose this change to the 1st sentence of the 14th Amendment to read (to wit) All persons born or naturalized by Citizens of the United States, and subject to..... AMENDMENT XIV Passed by Congress June 13, 1866. Ratified July 9, 1868. Note: Article I, section 2, of the Constitution was modified by section 2 of the 14th amendment. Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. Section 5. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article............................... ADD 6 words by Citizens of the United States to the 1st sentence........................................................ It can be inferred from the 2nd sentence of Amendment 14 that this was the INTENT of this amendment to apply to CITIZENS of the US, not to babies who were born illegally in the United States. JHC, how hard can it be folks !!!!!!!! Illegal babies born in the United States are NOT US citizens !!!!!!!!
