LETS BE CLEAR ABOUT OBAMACARE Before Obamacare, the American medical System was in trouble. 40 million people could not afford Health Insurance. The greatest cause for bankruptcy in the US was medical bills. In the US, more than 2 times as much was spent on Medical care than in any other nation for a system that was more and more characterized by long waits to see doctors, doctors practicing expensive defensive medicine to defend against high cost lawsuits, and luxury hospital construction everywhere irrespective of how it affected cost. Health insurance tied to employment meant limits on labor flexibility and mobility, hurting the economy. So, what does Obama Care do to fix it? Nothing. It adds a layer, an expensive layer,. of bureaucracy to make sure everyone from Insurance companies to the clients tow the line and obey government dictates. It treats the American people as if all are criminals that need to be controlled or they will cheat one another to death. It forces everyone to pay for personal choices of some, as long as those choices are fashionable (birth control pills, for example), though paying for choice is contrary to the purpose of insurance. And what of cost. Medical care will increase from 18% of GDP to between 22 and 25%, because nothing of Obamacare solves the cost problem. Note that other nations, with better public health in many cases, some with private systems, not government controlled, with high life expectancies, spend no more than 6/5-10% of their GDP on medical care.
