LETS FACE THE FACTS... One of my life principles is to always recognize those who contributed to making of ME....I can never claim to have been what I am and who I am by myself alone...or by my family alone...I always say it....I am 360 degrees my personal network and I am happy and proud to GIVE HONOR TO WHOM HONOR IS DUE..... In the past one week among some of my siblings we have discussed and shared stories of favors received from people in our career, in time of difficulty, in our businesses....we discussed about those who actually trust us and support us completely without much ado....and something interesting stuck out and was consistent with each of us.... Overtime and in various fora especially on social network there has been this interesting IGBO/YORUBA war of words that flash now and usually getting down to emotional flaming and abuses.....Everyone to his point of view based on their experience and hearsay... Often I have objectively discussed and pointed to the challenges of IGBO race within the Nigerian polity (for which I have been branded tribal severally) ...because of information and data at my disposal......yet I cannot fail to recognize some facts (based on my personal experience and those shared by some of my siblings)... (1) Of all my friends /acquaintances who have in every way been very supportive and ready to help in every way, without asking for anything.....80% are YORUBAS! (2) Of all my friends/acquaintances and people I meet who are ready to invest financially in any of my ventures....or even support me morally, emotionally and financially when things were bad in my career....80% are YORUBAS (3) Of all the people I meet to do business with...and for whom typically are not extremely calculating to chaff me ....80% are YORUBAS.... (4) Of all the people I have met and I can say are dependable.....65% are YORUBAS (5) The remaining 20% is even split among IGBOS and Others! (6) But guess what of all the people I have met, been friends with...and sought favor from from my year of reasoning till date....95% are IGBOS!!!!.... (you can do the summary mathematics).... It so easy for people to ask for division of Nigeria....I personally will vote NO! NO! NO! if ever put to referendum.....Not a few times have I been in a debate on this issue and some Yorubas were shocked when I said....well if they divide Nigeria, I will get a second passport with new name Omolara....lol........... Those who know me know I do not patronize.....I am as blunt as they come but I needed to write this to spur some thoughts among my IGBO people...and in thankfulness to all my YORUBA friends who have continued to get my back and my siblings back too..... God bless Nigeria!
