LETS SHARE COFFEE: Sin redefined Do you really know the definition of sin? You do? Then, can we say sin has since inception retained its definition or time and situation passed by has changed the definition of sin? I think sin has been redefined and to me it is unfortunate. I want us to look at sin with the simple understanding as been refusing to do anything that we know is good. Jam.4:7 ‘therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him is sin.’ Let us look at some things and speak senses into one another and stand by the real definition of sin. At the moment and age we are now, we see what even nature teaches us to be bad like Apostle Paul said is now been applauded as normal way of life, let us quickly remember that what is normal to the world is not normal and acceptable to God. Let us pick a reigning issue of premarital/relationship for instance; it is no longer a sin for intending couples in relationship to be leaving together for years before getting married now. In fact, ladies don’t see anything wrong in sleeping with the intended husband and vice versa to the extent of getting pregnant well before the wedding date. Hello I am not talking of those who do not know the four corners of a church, I am not talking of those that merely go to church for religious sake, I am talking of those that have accepted to be called Believers in all sense of it. The issue raised for instance was not to be mentioned in those days of our mothers, to them it is abomination, but to us now it is normal. Has fornication changed its definition, is it no longer a sin? Gluttony is another issue, greed is no longer a sin, is it no longer a sin for someone to lie to collect money from another? Doesn’t that look like stealing? Fraud is no more sin as long as we pay tithe out of it, our Pastors will sing our praise and even ordain some Deacons and Deaconesses; that still does not make it not to be a sin, it is approved to men but not to God. No matter how we redefine sin; the standard of God remain the same and sure, remain sin and the reward for it is same and sure. Prayer: Lord I pray for grace to live above sin even in this time and age when sin has become acceptable norm to many, let the kingdom remain my focus as I desire to be example unto fellow believers, so help me God Gr8 day
