LETTER TO MY SON (wisdom) This is my letter To son from father A legacy from my bosom Learn about wisdom A virtue scarce for the foolish Something never dismissed as rubbish Quality that defines the wise Secret of high and mjghty rise A commodity not bought A thing natural like thought Not so common Like street jargon A weapon heavier than cannon Ask a christian about king Solomon They do exploit Men drunk of its lot A wine so sweet But negatively it begets deceit To the foolishly wise Him that abuses a thing nice A wise man thinks before he talks The other talks before he thinks A wise man is slow to act the other hurries to no desired result A wise man looks before he leaps The other leaps before he looks A wise man eats to live The other lives to eat A wise man is optimistic The other pessimistic a wise thinks not with a sword The other ignites war with a careless word A wise man never stops thinking The other never stops quitting A wise man researches to discover The other discovers to research A wise man exploits the benefits of doubt The other doubts possibilities of any benefit My son please be nice For the sake of your rise embrace the path of the wise This is my advice Be wise Abakpa A.
