LETTER TO PRESIDENT To the President of Kenya and his deputy, new born:I am Ibrahim Jaafar Olum,a Kenyan, since i was born. I will not take too much of your time, But to plead and tell you of our pitiable life ever since we used the ballot and not the bullet. Mr.President, Lately citizens of this great Nation severed the binds of hard life-pocket patched,insecurity... I would hope you can intervene as things get seriously wrong, Poor cook is spoiling everything, Nothing to celebrate, nothing to smile about as all promises are empty. We are not safe anymore, better now are the old days, Of which we boast when we were an Island of peace and love, Today every single day is rivers of blood, Blood in our villages, Blood in our animal parks. Ordinary people hope is in the pure air we breath, But the air is getting toxicated with pungent smell of innocent sleeping forever men and women and children of this nation, Listen to yourself Mr. President, Do not seek to tie your destiny to the destiny of your predecessors or sychophants around you, This depend on you alone, Put yourselves on the side of all our peoples...understand the language of the poor. As to the accusation that this is political: Blaming one father of the Nation, For the brutal attacks, blame game and trying to be superior than others is our division, This old man of our time always want to bond the nation, And see the nation ride toward steady prosperity.... We are confident that your parties will not commit the crime of putting the treasure of this Country in turmoil. This is a message we address to you as a brother...a friend and a fellow countryman, at this grave time and decisive moment. Mr.President this is the time;for word and action-the definitive choice-in the face of emancipating our people and not socio-politico segregation that is wasting, Lets pull out troops from the northern land, Lets do so to salvage our people back home, Our freedom and dignity. God bless you Mr. president. God bless Kenya. Jaafar Olum © 17/06/2014
