LETTER TO THE NEW GOVERNOR:Your Excellency,I must begin this epistle by congratulating you on your successful installation as the new Governor of Anambra State, Eastern Nigeria. It was my grandfather(God bless his soul) who once told me that when faith summons, monarchs must obey.Considering the circumstances that catapulted you to political stardom from the depts of obscurity,it was faith that summoned you to mount the saddle of power in Anambra State at this critical time when it had become absolutely necessary that the noble achievements of your predecessor,Mr Peter Obi must be consolidated.I know you have all it takes to fit into his shoes, hence your emergence as a new leader despite the campaign of calumny heaped at your doorsteps by your detractors was not a fluke. The good people of Anambra may have seen the stuff youre made of,and little wonder they voted you en masse into office.Do not let them down;that will be sheer perfidy. The fact that your predecessor,Mr Peter Obi left behind a whooping sum of seventy -five billion naira in the state coffers should not give you the audacity to embark on a spending spree or to award contracts hither and tither. Please use this money and other state funds judiciously, for many state governors in Eastern Nigeria have lost their names for treating state coffers with disrespect. Some have been busy pursuing a fantasy of their own creation with their unpopulist policies while some have turned their states into a fiefdom, please avoid these governors like a bubonic plague, else they will lead you to perdition.Do not allow your wife to become so excited as to lose touch with decency,If possible, remove from her the toga of First Ladyship because it is not in the Nigeria constitution but an avenue to misappropriate public funds and a conduit to siphon the peoples commonwealth.Treat your wife with maximum respect, and not make her a prisoner in the government house.Endeavour to call your children to order for they are neither public office holders or political appointees to have P.As or to be disturbing the public peace with sirens and thugs.Your brother(s) or Sister(s) or any relative for that matter should not be a stakeholder in the administration of the state since the state is not a family patrimony. It is true that blood is thicker than water, but do not make them the lifeblood of your government;that will be tantamount to commiting political harakiri. If you harken to my voice your excellency,I can assure you that youll have a fruitful and eventful stay in Awka, the seat of power. This is my story;this is my song.My epistle is done !
