The award will be presented at a ceremony on Thursday 4th December 2014 in New York City. Yeshey has been part of the ‘Saving 100 Youth’ programme run by YMC, a social enterprise NGO that offers media skills to disadvantaged young people in his home town. Flying to New York from his worlds-apart Bhutan home is beyond Yeshey’s resources, and the small but growing Insight Film Festival also cannot stretch to making possible the trip … but with your help we can get Yeshey to New York City … to be there in person. Unemployment in Bhutan has created a group of disadvantaged young people at risk from crime and drug abuse. Yeshey’s brilliant film is about his friend who lives close by in the city and has achieved more than most of us can only dream about.
