LFD crews have cleared from a large grass fire on Hwy 20 and Honey Sign Drive north of the city limits. Upon arrival crews found approximately five acres of harvested field on fire with a southern flank moving into an unharvested field of tall grass. With the valuable assistance from local farmers, crews were able to hit the fire on the southern flank and stop the fire from spreading toward residential structures while other crews made a good stop on the other advancing flanks. The fire was accidentally started by farming equipment in the field. No injuries were reported.
