LG Polls: Stakeholders Salute Uduaghan, PDP For Forging Unity BY SAM DUVWODE FOLLOWING the just concluded People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chairmanship primaries across the state, politicians have continued to commend the leadership of the party and the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, for a well articulated and consensus primaries in ensuring that PDP remains united and geared towards victory. In Uvwie Local Government Area, Hon. Tony Ofoni, a political stalwart and grass root mobiliser, lauded PDP members and executives on the choice of Hon. Henry Baro Minabowaire as the PDP Chairmanship candidate that will fly the party’s flag in Uvwie in the forthcoming local government election. Reacting to the outcome of the primaries, Hon. Ofoni who spoke to newsmen, noted that the emergence of Hanry Baro as the party candidate in Uvwie portends a new vista in the democratic setting in Uvwie. He decribed Hon. Henry Baro as a bridge builder and a man with people’s oriented programmes and expressed optimism that if supported to victory on october 25, Hon. Baro has what it takes to attract meaningful development to the local government in tandem with the three point agenda of the state government. Hon. Ofoni, who commended the Delta Central PDP leadership and State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in ensuring that there is synergy amongst aspirant and members of party in Uvwie to produce a choice candidate, lauded the peaceful conduct of the primaries, adding that PDP still remians the party to beat with such harmony among members. He appealed to party faithful and the good people of Uvwie Kingdom to rally round Hon. Henry Baro advising that all forms of bitterness should be eschewed at this stage in order to see that PDP become victorious in local government election come October 25, 2014. Also in Ethiope East, Hon. Kelvin Omomarho, a member of the Transition Committee and party stalwart in the local government, lauded the emergence of Mrs. Faith Majemite as the PDP chairmanship candidate in Ethiope East for the forthcoming local government election. While commending the peaceful conduct of the primaries in the local government that was devoid of rancour, he lauded the peace and harmony that has been trailing the leadership of the party and noted that with the continued support of members of the party, the local government will be enhanced with the much needed development. Hon. Omomarho, who noted that the choice of Mrs Faith Majemite as the PDP flag bearer in the local government is a new dawn to women in the local government, described Mrs Majemite as a strong and dedicated party member who has paid her dues to enhance the growth and development of PDP in Delta. He called on all party members especially women to seize the opportunity in bringing their relevance to bear in the political history of the state and the local government by ensuring that PDP emerges victorious in the local government election on October 25.
