LGB® Model Railroad Club of Chicago promotes large-scale model - TopicsExpress

LGB® Model Railroad Club of Chicago promotes large-scale model railroading to show the public many different facets of large-scale model railroading from decorating whimsically or authentically to wiring easy or ambitious track plans. The club formed in 1979 and has over 100 members; most are located in Northeastern Illinois, Northwestern Indiana and Southeastern Wisconsin. Although the club focuses on LGB model trains, members collect and operate model trains made by all of the major large-scale manufacturers. With almost 9 scale miles of track the club layouts generally show trains controlled by Analog (low-voltage DC through the rails), EPL (AC controlled accessories for automatic operation), and DCC/MTS (digital command control/multi-train control), systems that demonstrate the capabilities of each system to the public. The Model Trains will be on display at the Masonic Temple from 11am-5pm on Saturday June 7 and Sunday June 8 as part of Rochelle’s Railroad Days Celebration. A free shuttle bus will make stops at the Railfan Park, Museum, Filling Station, Roy’s Transfer and the Masonic Temple. For more information on the LGB Model Railroad Display, visit lgbmrrcc.
