LGBTQ youth often described a high degree of optimism, frequently at similar levels as their peers. However, this optimism declined markedly compared to their peers when asked if they could achieve those dreams in the communities where they currently live. The most vivid example is that 83% of LGBT youth believe they will be happy eventually, but only 49% believe they can be happy if they stay in the same city or town. Something has to change... be the change in your community. Challenge inaccurate and harmful stereotypes.
