@LGUS . My Dishwasher (non) Repair Saga: Life is not good, LG. - TopicsExpress

@LGUS . My Dishwasher (non) Repair Saga: Life is not good, LG. At least for what me living with your dishwasher is concerned. I have a modern, silent, expensive #LG dishwasher that works beautifully. We bought it brand new, one year ago. But for the past 6 months, the machine will run the cycle, fully stop and then about 15 minutes later it will start all over again, and again, and again,,,, The only way to stop the cycle from running again is by leaving the door open. Since the machine is still under warranty, I called LG to have this nonsense repaired. 1) The first service company authorized by LG, Jimmys Same Day Appliance (hah! hah! the name of the company is a joke!), of Hastings, would not return my phone calls. I had the appointment date, set up by LG, but I had no idea of which window of time they would show up at my front door. I have to go work, I cant sit around all day without knowing when someone will come to my house, so I called Jimmy to make arrangements. I attempted to reach Jimmy and left numerous voice messages. I did not hear from him. All I needed to know was the darn window of time! I got tired of trying to reach Jimmy, so I called LG, and asked for a different provider. Well, despite the cancellation, Jimmy showed up at my house anyway, at his convenience, and of course when no one was there to open the door for him. At this time, Jimmy called my cell phone to let me know he was at my house. I said sorry but you are out of this job. Jimmy apparently has a cell phone, he uses it when it is for his advantage and convenience. I can relate to that. I dont like to talk on the phone, either. But I make sure to answer all my clients when they need to know something about how I handle my work flow. 2) The first time Provider Number 2, Econo Services, of Danbury, came in to my house, they arrived within the pre-arranged schedule. But I had a car emergency that day and had to run to the shop, so I made arrangements for someone else to stay at my house and wait for the Econo crew. They refused to service the dishwasher because I could not show the purchase receipt. No one from LG or Econo told me ahead of time that I would have to show the receipt at the time of the visit, since I registered the dishwasher online. I told Econo that I was just around the corner and I would be able to provide the receipt in 15 minutes but they would not wait. They left my house with no work done.Their problem was the fact that the anniversary of the purchase date had passed by a few days, despite the fact that the installation date was still before the warranty expired. Econo explained that they have been stiffed before, working for no pay, so I dont really blame them for refusing to do the work. I only wish that the receipt issue had been handled prior to the appointment, to save everyones time. If no receipt means no work, why not verify the receipt prior to the appointment.Had I been told prior to the appointment, I could have PDFd, e-mailed, faxed, iphoned, droid phoned, facebooked, twitted, youtubed, and even snail mailed that darn receipt prior to the appointment. But all LG and Econo told me is that someone had to be home to let the workers in the house. Not a peep about the receipt. 3) So I called LG yet once again to clarify the warranty date, to make sure the dishwasher was indeed under warranty. I must say, LG customer service people have been really nice and helpful. I have 1-year warranty for labor, and 2-year warranty for parts. But to be on the safe side, LG provided a special job authorization number, to assure Econo that they would be paid for the work, and offered to extend my 1-year warranty, as I called a day or so after the purchase date (but before the 1 year anniversary of the delivery and installation date). No complaints here, only praise. 4) Yesterday: Another appointment with Econo, from 8 am to 12 noon. I sit in my house waiting for someone to show up, while working from my laptop with limited tools, being away again from my office. The phone rings. Econo cannot make it. I go to work, late, and annoyed. Econo re-scheduled their appointment for today. Another morning would be wasted on a dishwasher. I start to wonder if Econo is punishing me for not having a receipt ready at the time of the first visit... 5) Today: Another appointment with a waiting window of 8 am to 12 noon. It is now 11:30 am and I have been home all morning, trying to work the best I can while I wait for the repair men. No one has shown up yet. I called Econo to see what is going on, and I find out the earliest they can make it is around 1:30 pm.... and the only reason I know this is because I CALLED to ask!! Econo did not think they should have the decency of letting me know they were running late. I have been sitting here waiting for them since 8 am!! At this point, I am so angry that I fantasize of burning the dishwasher in my front yard as a form of protest and catharses, and then buying another dishwasher from a LG competitor. But the joke would be on me, though it would be less of a hassle to clean up a burnt dishwasher from my lawn than to have to deal with the unreliable service providers that LG has contracted with. This is why life is NOT good, LG. This sucks big time. Your repair contractors need to be more considerate of peoples waiting time. At this day and age, no one can afford to sit all day at home waiting for someone to show up. I have work to do, too. A simple text or e-mail would keep me informed and I would be able to make better decisions with my day. Next time I need to purchase a new appliance, I will remember all of this.
