LICENSING PARTNER - MICROSOFT SELECTS LOCAL FIRM ********************************************************************************* Microsoft has selected a local information technology enterprise to be its official licensing solutions partner. ACE Data Systems, one of Myanmar’s software developer firms, signed the deal at a ceremony in Yangon Wednesday. The firm will mainly take care of volume licensing programs for larger enterprises. Microsoft first entered the Myanmar market in 2013 and has since established official distributors for smaller customers and resellers, and now for licensing services. The company has been offering most of its products and services in the country except for cloud services, although plans to bring it here are underway. Since economic sanctions were lifted, Myanmar has had a demand of IT solutions for both individuals and enterprises. The hope is to encourage the usage of legal and licensed services. ACE Data Systems also plans to cover the whole Myanmar with their 350 IT Engineers stationed in Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw.
