LIFE AFTER DEATH The questions: “The death of a loved one brings heartache, regret, a longing for second chances, and questions… At this painful, vulnerable time in one’s life, the mind seeks answers.” “Is that all there is?” “Is he / she gone forever?” “What is happening to my loved one now?” “Were he / she now?” ”surely my baby is in heaven now… is he / she?” “If only I could be sure?” “I can’t bear the thought of them suffering in purgatory!?” “What kind of God burns people?” Let’s look at these questions. One cannot answer these questions truly without the WORD OF GOD. “Is that all there is?” No, the word of God tells us that though the physical body dies the soul / spirit of man lives on forever. Ecclesiastes 12:7 - Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. “Is he / she gone forever?” No, as said above the spirit of man lives on forever. For the loved ones who live on will not see them until the Day of Judgment. “Gone forever” have two meanings. Those who died will not come back to this world but there bodies, bones or ashes will remain in the grave. There spirit will be with God or it will be lost forever in hell. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 - For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Hebrews 9:27 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment … “What is happening to my loved one now?” it depends on their salvation. If they died in their sins it is clear that their destiny is hell. If they received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, then they will be God in heaven. See scripture above. Revelation 1:18 - I [am] he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation 21:8 - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 1 Corinthians 15:22 - For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. John 5:24-26 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Look at this parable it speaks foritself. Luke Chapter 16 19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich mans table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abrahams bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that [would come] from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my fathers house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. “Were he / she now?” As above Luke 16 states of 2 places, one the bosom of Abraham revering to heaven and two, the lake of fire meaning hell. ”surely my baby is in heaven now… is he / she?” All babies who die or are aborted will go to heaven. Children who can decide for themselves what they decide to do whether it is good or bad have the capacity to decide for or against God. Therefore they are without excuse. God’s word is clear about this. Children are innocent and it is clear that they are prized position of God as it written that we should not hinder the children to come unto Jesus. It also says that we should be like children when we come to God. Yes children are innocent and during their growing up they get influenced by the world. Parents bringing up their children in an ungodly home hinder them to come unto Jesus. Matthew 18:3-5; Luke 18:16, 17; Exodus 32:32, 33. “If only I could be sure?” Yes you can be sure. The Word is clear about life after death and the destiny of our spirit / soul. If you died in your sin it is clear that we will not partake in heaven. Your eternal destiny will be hell. However If you have received Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior you will be with Jesus in heaven. John 3:16; 14:6. Romans 6:23; Luke 16: 19-31 “I can’t bear the thought of them suffering in purgatory!?” There is no purgatory! The Word is clear about our eternal destination. It is heaven or hell. Our decision for or against Jesus Christ will determine our eternal destination. John 3:16; 14:6. Romans 6:23; Luke 16: 19-31… What kind of God burns people?” Rather ask yourself the question “what did God do for me so that I will not BURN?” in the light of all said above and scriptures given and that all is written in the Bible “God’s love letter to us” can you say you are without excuse? Can you say you where not warned? Those of you who are in a cult or institution, religious organization who reads from the Bible, are without excuse. Revelations 18:4 How long is eternity? Ok let’s see how I can make it practical. The oldest man was Methuselah, he was 969 years old Genesis 5:21-27. Ok that’s old. According to Wikipedia Jeanne Louise Calment; 21 February 1875 – 4 August 1997) was a French who had the longest confirmed human lifespan in history, living to the age of 122 years, 164 days. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, life expectancy for men in 1907 was 45.6 years; by 1957 it rose to 66.4; in 2007 it reached 75.5. So it is a fact that man today live to about 80 years old. Lets say the average person lives 80 years 80 years = 29220 days (give or take for leap years) 29220 days = 701280 hours 701280 hours = 42076800 minutes 42076800 minutes = 2,524,608,000 seconds Your average 80-year-old will see a little over 2.5 billion seconds in his / her lifetime. NOW take an A4 paper and a pen and make a dot in the left bottom corner, now draw a line from the dot to the top right corner, DON’T stop there keep on drawing this line in a straight line across the earth out to the sky, into outer space. This line will never stop, never end, it will go on for eternity. This will give you an idea of what eternity means. NASA does not even know how big our universe is.
