LIFE HAS RHYTHMS QUOTE OF THE DAY: “TOO SWIFT IS AS UNTIMELY AS TOO SLOW” Memory Verse: “In his hearta man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps” Proverbs 16:9. God in His sovereignty has punctuated human life with series of events and occurrences. More often than not, these events are God-designed and are beyond human control. These phenomenon do occur in order to put one on the right path, to correct, to slow life’s voyage down in one’s own interest. There is a time to let things happen and a time to make things happen. Life is lived in seasons, meaning we are to do different things at different times. As far as God is concerned, urgent matters are not urgent; being too swift is as untimely as being to slow; the more haste, the less speed. Come to think of it, of what good is running if you are headed in the wrong direction? I think it’s more important to know where you are going than to see how fast you can get there. Often, we undo ourselves by impatience. God has a right balance for our lives. There is actually a rhythm He wants us to live by: ‘whoever believes will not act hastily’ Isaiah 28:16. Pressure usually accompanies us when we are out of the pace of God. God’s ultimate secret is patience, those who ran ahead of Him in the scripture crashed out of the race to destiny. Saul, out of pressure, ran ahead of Prophet Samuel, he lost the throne and became miserable till death. Abraham ran into his housemaid, as crafted by his wife. Ultimately, they produced Ishmael, but the whole world is still regretting it. While Abraham Lincoln was responding to the question of whether he was sure God was on the union’s side, during the darkest hour of the Civil War, honestly answered, ‘I do not know: I have not thought about that, but I am very anxious to know whether we are on God’s side. Where are you running to? The race of life is not to the fastest, but to those on God’s side. Never remains where God has not sent you. Walking patiently in the pace of God helps us to be established on the proper foundation. Remember, nothing is permanent unless built on God’s will and word. When God shuts and bolts the door, never try to get in through the window. It is well! DIVINE INSTRUCTION FOR THE DAY WHAT WAS THE LAST MISTAKE YOU MADE?
