LIFE ON OUR NUT FARM – FAMILY DAY Michael arrived home on time; Alexander had his plate of steak, grilled red potatoes, corn on the cob, and garlic bread warming in the oven. Our family sat around the kitchen table, while Michael told the stories of his day. Soon, my father Kenny said it was time to go, the Med-aid at his assisted living facility would be waiting at the door for him! Grandpa Kenny hugged everyone goodbye, Michael walked us out to the car, Nicole along for the short ride, and I drove him home. Tonya was waiting at the door for him! Kenny thanked me for the fun filled day; which began with pedicures and lunch. Then back to our house, friends, Kathy, Michael, and Terri waiting in the driveway. A little Puppy Girl time and picking up fabric for projects. I cleaned house a bit more, fed all Our Pets, and did laundry. Soon, Alexander, Jamie, Nicole, and Roslyn arrived, opening the door, and walking out to greet them, as if in Heaven. They are here! Alexander started the dinner immediately; he loves the kitchen like his father and sister Adrienne. It always amazes me how fast and efficient they are! Nicole entertained Grandpa Kenny…or was he entertaining her…both are “Characters!” Jamie, laptop on the table working on a school assignment, she was still part of our many varied conversations. When Nicole and I arrived back home, Roslyn sleeping, Alexander was sharing the stories of his fist week on patrol. Father and son, laughing at their mutual experiences in law enforcement. Jamie and Nicole love to see my newest fabrics in the queue, I brought out my Shipping Samples. Jamie selected, ELEMENTS OF STYLE IV by M’Liss - Black & White fabrics for clothes. She wants a Beach Bag with, PETS at the BEACH by M’Liss. It may be with this fabric I teach her how to sew and quilt! Nicole, selecting fabrics for American Girl Doll bedding; she asked, “Grandma, do you have any plain white fabric for the dust ruffle?” For the first time, I was able to say, “Yes, my new TONAL BLENDER is White on White!” Nicole pulled fabrics from my “Fabric Wall” like an expert, for the little doll quilt and pillows. Mostly pinks, she showed, Alexander her picks, asking for his opinion. We auditioned the fabrics on the petite brass bed. Nicole loves staying up late with me, now, happily sleeping in her VISIT PARIS with Grandma Room, Miss Vivienne and Dashiell with her. Many Blessings from OUR NUT FARM.
