LIFT YOUR EYES TO THE HILLS... Today I am drawn to Psalm 121. This Psalm was written for Pilgrims as they made their way up towards Jerusalem. I imagine the road was long and arduous and full of challenges from wild animals to robbers. Like the journey of life...it could be hard and tiring for many and sometimes it must have seemed as if it would never end as the mountains loomed ahead...Do you know that feeling? Yet here the Psalmist urges the travellers to raise their eyes to the source of their help.... I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. These beautiful words tell of the Lords love for me and I sink into the comfort and grace that comes from knowing that He watches over me through the night and the day and that He will continue to do so as long as I Live and long after I leave this world....I am His forever...not even death can take me from His hands. He , The Lord of all, Loves me, He Loves You!!! What Joy!!!! So this morning I walk out with my eyes raised to Him and Him alone...I look above the news headlines that tell of war, pestilence, hatred and strife....I raise my eyes above personal challenges at work, home, or anywhere else....above finances, health , friends, enemies....above all things and I say to my self; Behold your God...He who made heaven and earth, He who holds the sun, the starts, the sky, the world in the Palm of His hands. Behold your God my soul...and peace Be still. All is well!!! Say this with me and be confident in the Lord..... Today brothers and sisters, I pray that the peace that surpasses all peace may guard your hearts and minds and that you too will lift your eyes to Him above all things.
