LIGAO CITY, ALBAY-Elements of 2nd Infantry Battalion , 901st Infantry Brigade Phil Army led by 1LT JOEL PEDREGOSA conducted security operation around 8:25am today, January 21 at Brgy Cagbacong, Legazpi City after reports from concerned citizens on the presence of suspected rebels at a coconut kiln. Troops searched the said coconut kiln but the insurgents have left the area. On their search, troops found and recovered one (1) caliber 9mm pistol, four (4) Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), 15 meters electrical wire, hammock, and subversive documents. LTC PERFECTO P PEÑAREDONDO, 2IB Commander, said their efforts in conducting Bayanihan activities in the province is gaining results as can be clearly manifested by the cooperation of the civilians in giving information to their unit. COL RAUL M FARNACIO, 901st Brigade Commander, said that he sent troops to verify said report and ensures that the people in rural areas who do not want the presence of the rebels will not be harmed by this bandits. MGEN YERSON DEPAYSO, 9th Infantry Division Commander, encourages residents in threatened areas to report the presence of the rebels for them to stop their illegal and unlawful activities which may harm civilians. The 2nd Infantry Battalion under the 901st Brigade will continue in their pursuit towards lasting peace in Albay in order to make it conducive to sustainable development.....
